For A.P.C. Quilts Round 19, Jessica Ogden turned directly to A.P.C.’s architecture. Designed by Laurent Deroo Architecture, the details of the A.P.C. shops and headquarters inspired the patterns for seven new quilts and five cushions.
Their names hint at the places they represent, such as the Money Penny king size quilt, a nod to the Bond Street shop in NYC (Miss Money Penny is a central character in the James Bond films), the Melle Mel baby quilt, reproducing the shelving pattern of the L.A. Melrose Place shop (as in Grandmaster Flash, Melle Mel and the Furious Five) or the Albert Cushion, evoking a fitting room in one of the rue Madame shops (across from which Albert Camus once lived).
